Delete your Firlight data

Firlight (Android app Firlight: Grief Companion, by João Correia) has no account with us and no server that holds what you write. Your data lives on your phone and, only if you chose Continue with Google, in your own Google Drive. Here is how to delete each part. Nothing is kept by us afterwards.

On your phone

Open Firlight → Me → Settings (the gear) → Erase everything. This deletes every letter, journal entry, memory, photo, check-in, date and setting on the phone. Uninstalling the app does the same. Usage counts keep no identifier: turning the switch off in Settings stops further counts, and past counts carry no identifier, so they cannot be traced back to you or picked out to delete.

Your Google Drive backup

In the app: Me → Settings → Account and backup → Delete Drive copy and disconnect. This deletes the backup file from your Drive and removes Firlight's access to your Google account. What is on the phone stays.

Without the app (for example, if you no longer have the phone):

  1. On a computer, open drive.google.com and sign in with the Google account you backed up to.
  2. Open Settings (the gear) → Manage apps → find Firlight → Options → Delete hidden app data. This deletes the backup file.
  3. Then open myaccount.google.com/connections, choose Firlight and remove its access.

The backup file is the only thing Firlight stores in your Drive. Once deleted, it is gone for good.

Purchases

If you bought Firlight Plus, an anonymous purchase record (a random app user ID and the purchase details, never your name, email or anything you write) is held by RevenueCat, the service that confirms purchases. Email jfpvcorreia@gmail.com with the date of purchase and we will have it deleted within 30 days. Google Play keeps its own order records under the Google Privacy Policy.
